William Wesley Sawyer

ASHEBORO, N.C. — William Wesley Sawyer, 50, of 3715 Moutain Terrace Rd., Asheboro, N.C., died Monday November 30, 2009 at his home. Born in Montebello, Calif., formerly of Pocahontas, Va., he was the son of Jay D. Sawyer and Ruth Stacy Sawyer of Pocahontas, Va. He was a machinist and of the Methodist faith. He was also a lover of animals, wildlife and music.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Diana Lynn Sawyer.

Survivors: Two nephews, Nicholas Bortle of Pocahontas, Va. and Zachary Lewis, U.S. Army, Germany; also a special friend, Darcy Rowell.

Graveside services will be held Friday December 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Claypool Hill, Va. with the Rev. Carlos Hess officiating. Friends and family will meet at the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Claypool Hill, Va. for a 11:00 a.m. service.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be sent to Center for Christian Action, P.O. Box 608, Pocahontas, VA 24635, and The First United Methodist Church, Box 417, Pocahontas, VA 24635.
