NARROWS, Va. — Lillian Hassen Whisman, 84, of Narrows, Va., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 1st, 2009 at her home.
She was born in Ronceverte, W.Va. on April 23rd, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Sam and Anna Holliday Hassen; and a sister, Issy Boggs.
She was a longtime and faithful member of First Baptist Church in Narrows.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 65 years, James Harvey Whisman of Narrows; two sons, Jim Whisman of Roanoke and David Whisman of Dandridge, Tenn.; a grandson, Jeffrey Whisman of Beckley, W.Va.; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sam Hassen of Chester, Va. and Steven Hassen of Max Meadows, Va.; a sister, Sandra Wright of Chester; and several nieces and nephews.
At Lillian’s request, burial will be private, and that there will be no viewing or visitation. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either the Salvation Army or to First Baptist Church in Narrows.
