PRINCETON — Ann Jane “Jennie” Cyphers, 89, of the Glenwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Princeton, W.Va., formerly of Northfork, W.Va. (Burke addition), went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009 at the nursing center after a long illness. Born March 22, 1920 in England, she was a United States citizen. She was a charter member of the Burke Baptist Church, Keystone, W.Va. where she was a faithful and devoted member. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She always had a great testimony for her Lord, and will always be remembered for her beautiful singing voice and her love and concern for others. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell R. East; her second husband, Otho Levi “Snooks” Cyphers; and one sister, Dorothy Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Alice Selvey and husband David of Keystone, W.Va., Brenda Miller and husband Archie M. Miller of Huntsville, Ala.; one stepson, Randy Cyphers and wife Anna of South Charleston, W.Va.; one sister, Nellie Harsanyi Smith of Princeton, W.Va.; one brother, Joe Hamer and wife Zetta of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two stepgranddaughters; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Nov. 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Burke Baptist Church, Keystone, W.Va. with Pastor Darrell Church and the Rev. Youel Altizer officiating. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, W.Va. Friends may call Sunday night from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Widener Funeral Home, Northfork and at the church Monday, one hour prior to services. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
