Dolly Fern Hale

CEDAR BLUFF, Va. — Dolly Fern Hale, age 79, of Cedar Bluff, Va., passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009. Born October 12, 1930 in Buchanan County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Willie Elden and Zella Jane Lewis Hale. She was a resident of Cumberland Mountain Group Home for over 20 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, L.C. Hale; one infant brother, Buford Hale; and one sister, Narcie Skeens.

She is survived by five sisters, Joyce Ross and husband, Ray of Bristol, Tenn., Darlis Armes and husband, Ersel of Lebanon, Sue Meadows and husband, Jimmie of Claypool Hill, Maxine Perry of Grundy and Polly Riley and Chris Jordan of Bristol, Va.; many nieces and nephews; and her extended family at Cumberland Mountain Group Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Va. with the Rev. Ancil Childress, the Rev. Shannon Justice, the Rev. Tim Lester and Sister Ruth Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Lester, Tim Mullins, Craig Hunsaker, Ken Ball, Kathy Patrick, Nancy Marshall, Daniel Hess, Adam Wade, Billy Wimmer, Becky Widener, Ron Allison, Mary Cole and Ruth Lowe.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff, Va.
