Rupert Millard Quesenberry

PRINCETON — Rupert Millard Quesenberry, 78, of the Hickory Gate Road, (just off the Pisgah Road) Princeton died Friday afternoon, November 20, 2009 at Princeton Community Hospital.

Born February 1, 1931, at Shiloh, Va., he was the son of the late Dewey Roscoe Quesenberry and Dorothy Frances Turpin Quesenberry.

Mr. Quesenberry had worked both for the Virginian R. R. and the N & W. R.R., retiring as a bridge inspector with more than 31 years of service. He was a quiet person and loved working on his farm.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Belvia Tepper, Reba Elledge and Fredrick Brooks Quesenberry.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Lee White Quesenberry; four children, Linda Lawson and husband Danny of Tazewell, Va., Brenda Horton and husband Jeff of Early Branch, Ga., Donna Bowling and husband Bill of Princeton, Mike Quesenberry of Princeton; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; six siblings, Drexel Quesenberry and wife Wanda of Pennsylvania, Dewey Eldridge Quesenberry and wife Jean of Texas, Tressie Shrader and husband Cecil of Princeton, Treva Payne and husband Aubrey of Virginia, Dreama Boothe and husband Buford of Virginia, Helen Grubb of Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Rupert Quesenberry will be held 5:00 p.m. Sunday (today) November 22, 2009 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Jim Simmons speaking. Following the services, the family will honor his request, and his body will be cremated.

A time of gathering and sharing will be held from 3 until 5 p.m. today (Sunday) at the funeral home.
