MEADOWVIEW, Va. — Bertha Mae Necessary Thompson, age 92, of Meadowview, Va., formerly of Tazewell, Va., died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at her home. Born December 10, 1916 at Yukon, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late James J. Necessary and Armanda Jane Payne Necessary. She was of the Christian faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Robert Thompson; and one brother, James Hassil Necessary.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia T. Miller and husband, R.P. Miller of Meadowview, Va. and Patricia T. Snapp and husband, Phylip Snapp of Wytheville, Va.; three grandchildren, Brad Snapp, Jennifer Kimbler, and Robbie Miller; three great-grandchildren, Lauren Makenzie Snapp, Brennon Kimbler, and Ian Miller; two sisters, Mattie Puckett and Mary Eleanor Necessary, both of Tazewell, Va.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, Va. with Pastor Mike Sommers officiating.
