Margaret Evans Sorah

PRINCETON — Margaret Evans Sorah, age 86, of 252 Jason Avenue, Princeton, W.Va., formerly of Kimball, W.Va., passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 at her home in Princeton after a long illness. Born May 5, 1923 in Superior, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles D. Evans and Rosa Mosko Evans. She attended the Trinity Temple Church, Welch, W.Va. while living in McDowell County, and attended the Princeton Church of God after moving to Mercer County. She was a former employee of the W.V. Sportswear, Kimball, W.Va. and also worked at Buddy’s Discount in Welch, W.Va. She was an Avon representative also, and also a homemaker. She was a resident of McDowell County most of her life, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. Sorah; one son, Jeffrey Allen Sorah; one sister, Ruth Buckland; three brothers, Maynard, Richard, and George Evans.

She is survived by three sons, Estil Sorah and wife Nadine of Athens, W.Va., Ronald L. “Ron” Sorah and wife Debbie of Princeton, W.Va., Bryant K. Sorah and wife Kathy of Kimball, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Teresa Mullins of Princeton, W.Va., Ed Sorah of Camp Creek, W.Va., Bridget Harshbarger of Georgia, Ron Sorah of Welch, W.Va., and Jason Sorah of Twin Branch, W.Va.; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel, Kimball, W.Va. with the Rev. Larry Buckland officiating. Burial will follow at the Iaeger Memorial Cemetery, Roderfield, W.Va. Friends may call Monday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Widener Funeral Home, Kimball. Serving as pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.
