Linda Sue Rose Payne
BRAMWELL — Linda Sue Rose Payne, age 61, of 111 Ramey Street, Bramwell, W.Va., formerly of McDowell County, went to be with the Lord Monday morning, Oct. 26, 2009 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center after a long illness. Born July 25, 1948 in Welch, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Cecil Rose and Fannie Nipper Rose. She was affiliated with the Holiness faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was a resident of McDowell County most of her life. Her last words to her children were, “Always respect my wishes.” Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Tina Louise Rose; one granddaughter, Pricillia Underwood; one brother, Ervin Junior Rose; two sisters, Stella Mae Nipper and Marie Keaton.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis Clifford Payne of the home; six sons, James Rose and companion Rachel England of Keystone, W.Va., Ronald Payne and wife Donna of Bluewell, W.Va., Jerry Payne and wife Michelle of Princeton, W.Va., Clifford Payne and companion Charity White of Bluefield, W.Va., Larry “Jr.” Payne and wife Helen of Hensley, W.Va., Lewis W. Payne and wife Mary of War, W.Va.; five daughters, Frances Underwood and husband Vernon of Lincolnton, N.C., Mary Bailey of Bradshaw, W.Va., Annie Rife of Bradshaw, W.Va., Michelle Caskey and husband Harry of Lincolnton, N.C., Linda Marie Payne of Bluefield, W.Va.; three brothers, Elmer Rose of Iaeger, W.Va., Graham Akers of Bradshaw, W.Va., James Akers of Bradshaw, W.Va.; two sisters, Mary Garlic and husband Ricky of Bradshaw, W.Va., Beth Everson and husband Don of Lexington, N.C.; 27 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Old Fashion Full Gospel Church, Northfork, W.Va., with the Rev. Harold Simpson and the Rev. Shirley Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell, W.Va. Friends may call Thursday evening after 6:00 p.m. at the Old Fashion Full Gospel Church, Northfork, W.Va. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
