Frankie Mae Mullins Street

VANSANT, Va. — Frankie Mae Mullins Street, 81 years of age, of Dry Fork section of Vansant, Va., went to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 11, 2009, surrounded by her family at her residence.

Born in Buchanan County, December 22, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Milton Mullins and Mary Catherine Looney.

She enjoyed quilting, loved to cook, was a charter member and founder of the Victory Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Tuesday Morning Ladies Group. She was a former member and President of the Vansant Chapter of Tops, active supporter of the American Cancer Society, devoted Christian and enjoyed witnessing to people about Christ. She was a loving wife, mommie, mamaw and great-mamaw.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Donald Drew Street.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Joseph Wilson Street of Vansant, Va.; four daughters, Lois Ann Clarke and husband Larry Alan of Bristol, Tenn., Reva Carol Fields and husband, Jerry of Vansant, Va., Jan Blankenship and husband, Ralph of Vansant, Va. and LaDonna Boardwine of Bristol, Tenn.; three sons, Joe Gary Street and wife Lanette of Vansant, Va., Jimmie Allen Street of Bristol, Tenn. and Michael Street and wife Bertha of Vansant, Va.; two brothers, Basil Looney of Pilgrims Knob, Va. and Dan Looney of Alamo, Texas. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Frank Glasscock, Alan Clarke, Jodi Reynolds, Jessica Savage, Jonathan Street, April Dalpiaz, Brandi Clevinger, Heather Thomas, Josh Street, Dr. Dia Owens, Jeremy Fields, Marc Blankenship, Dr. Shawna Blankenship, Joey Powers, Tanner Boardwine; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Frankie Mae Mullins Street will be conducted Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry D. Ratliff, Sr. and Pastor Philip Cook officiating. Private committal will be held at the Street Family Cemetery on Dry Fork, Vansant, Va.

Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Ratliff, Terry Looney, Kenneth Horne, Dr. Dia Owens, Dr. Michael Bible, Ralph Blankenship and Cade Thomas

The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday with a special Musical Tribute at 7:30 p.m..

In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to the Buchanan County Relay For Life, P.O. Box 1188, Vansant, Va., or Victory Baptist Church Missionary Van Fund, P.O. Box 641, Vansant, VA 24656.
