Elmo Kenneth Sadler

BLAND, Va. — Elmo Kenneth Sadler, age 75, of Bland, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday,

October 7, 2009. He was born May 23, 1934 in Bland, Va., son of the late Edgar H. and Mabel Umbarger Sadler. He and his wife established and operated Sadlers Heating and Supply for 35 years.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, JoAnn Sadler of the home; three daughters, Debra and Edgar M. King of Bland, Va., Sheree and Mike Lester of Newport News, Va., Barbara and Jay Hoge of Tobaccoville, N.C.; three grandchildren, David and Crystal King, Heather Lester; six great-grandchildren; extended family, numerous friends and a special canine, PJ.

By Mr. Sadler's request, there will be only a private memorial service.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home; however, the family will receive friends at the residence of his daughter, Debra King. In lieu of flowers and gifts of food, please make donations in his memory to Bastian Union Church, 29 Bears Trail, Bastian, VA 24314, or Hospice of Southwest Virginia, 600 West Ridge Road, Wytheville, VA 24382. Highland Bland Funeral Chapel, Bland, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
