Johnny Ray Watkins

BIG STONE GAP, Va. — Johnny Ray Watkins, 37, passed away Saturday (July 4, 2009) at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn.

Johnny was born and lived most of his life in Bluefield, Va. He had live in Big Stone Gap for the past four years. He was a 1990 graduate of Graham High School in Bluefield.

Surviving are his parents, Fred and Jenny (Neely) Watkins of Big Stone Gap; two brothers, Michael Watkins of King George, Va., and Daniel Watkins and wife, Candise of Roanoke, Va.; and two special caregivers, Mary Carol Watkins of Big Stone Gap and Gail Cox of Appalachia, Va.

Family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap, Va.

A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Larry Rutherford officiating.

Entombment services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens’ Mausoleum.

Family and friends will meet at the cemetery by 10:50 a.m. Wednesday.
