Romney to make stops in Va on Monday

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is returning to Virginia ahead of Tuesday's election.

His campaign says Romney is scheduled to attend a rally at Virginia Aviation in Lynchburg on Monday afternoon.

The former Massachusetts governor also is set to a rally at George Mason University in Fairfax later Monday.

Romney is the latest in a string of Virginia visits by the presidential and vice presidential nominees and their closest supporters ahead of Election Day.

Polls show Virginia among the last handful of states where the election is a toss-up. In 2008, President Barack Obama became the first Democratic presidential candidate to carry Virginia since 1964.
